Self Esteem reflection
Self-esteem is basically confidence in one's worth or
abilities. I think that self-esteem is very important because it can shape
characteristics of a person. Media has fed the consumers with all kinds of
messages on how ones self-esteem should be. For example, being good looking is
only if you have a size 2 stomach or nothing less than a 6 pack. Many people in
this day and age have trouble with their self-esteem therefore they tend to not
appreciate and love themselves as much as they actually should.
Although looking flawless is not a trait I own, I believe I'm very happy with myself and what I was given by god. After hearing the talk conducted by body shop, I felt some sort of piece in my heart and soul and I was a good reminder for me to love myself more.
Sometimes I can’t accept rejection and whenever I make a wrong move or a mistake, I tend to over think the mistakes and end up spoiling my day because of how bad or how guilty I felt. This talk has thought me to be the total opposite of how I dwell on mistakes. I learnt to be more accepting and I also learnt to focus on my positive attributes rather than my weaknesses.
